Note from the President

Dear Presidents,
 
I hope your school year is off to a good start and that you are working on promoting membership.
 
Please know that all council board members are available to help you with any questions or problems and you can find our contact information on our website at
irvinecouncilPTA.org. along with other valuable resources. We will be sending you monthly reminders of community events that PTA is participating in and items you will need to be working on to bring to our meeting on October 15th, 2008 at 9:00am.
 
  • Walk to School Day IPSF - October 15th, 2008 make sure you have appointed someone from your school to help with this event.
 
  • “Cans for Cash” – The month of October 2008 look to make sure that your schools are getting this information sent out.  Help to provide volunteers for can collection days.  Your principals should work with you in coordinating this.
 
  • Meeting Calendar  - Please bring a copy of your monthly meeting calendar and put it in the Presidents file.  If you need a board member to attend your meeting we are available but will need notice.
 
  • Legislative Action  -  Oct. 20 - Last day for voter registration - www.ocvote.com
 
  • Membership – please make sure that you are depositing membership dues in a timely fashion. Your first council dues membership payment $4.25per members is due on October 15th, 2008 attached to a council remittance form.  You are encouraged to mail your payment to the address on the form as soon as you have processed your unit dues.   Please contact Laura Cook at bdlpcook@cox.net if you need with membership.
 
  • Reflections – make sure that your chairperson is working on this important program and is in contact with Council Reflections Chair - Amy Tingirides at amycmc@cox.net
 
  • Year End Audit for 2007-2008 – due October 24, 2008 to Council Auditor – Nickie Martin nickie.martin@cox.net
 
  • End of Year Financial Report  - due October 24, 2008 to Council Treasurer – Bill Tomlinson – wmtii@aol.com
 
  • Approved Unit Budget for 2008-2009 – due October 24, 2008 to Council Treasurer – Bill Tomlinson – wmtii@aol.com
 
  • Forms/Programs to share  -  send at anytime to VP Communications – Linda Pierce – linda@langpierce.net

Ambassador Alert

Dear IPSF Ambassadors: 
Thank you all so much for volunteering to work with IPSF this year.  I have attached the Ambassador Alert for October; please share this information with your school or community.
Our Ambassador Orientation Meeting will be held on Monday, October 20, from 9:30 – 11:00 in the IUSD Board Room, 5050 Barranca Parkway, Irvine CA  92604 (This is the school district administrative offices).  Coffee and a light breakfast will be provided.  Our meeting should take about an hour, but I am including additional time for any questions if necessary.
Ambassadors meet together in person only twice each year, at this orientation meeting and a wrap up meeting in the Spring.  Please make every effort to attend this meeting to learn more about IPSF, our goals and activities for the year, and share any questions you may have.  Please confirm your attendance with Emily Sorsher at esorsher@ipsf.net.  Thank you.
